Quality Over Quantity

Bratton and Jones Farms produces farm fresh, pasture raised pork, chicken, and turkey. Our current production is based around heritage pork, and meat bird chicken and turkey. In the future the plans are to increase all these meats as well as adding beef. Producing pasture raised animals is a pillar of our business model as we concentrate on animal welfare as a step to the high-quality meat that we produce. For our pigs we use only heritage 100% red wattles. This breed is still red meat pork because the blood line is from before breeding for production and in this sense takes us longer to produce pork. Ensuring that the animals we raise have plenty of room to roam and forage for natural nutrients from the land. Here at Bratton and Jones Farms we do not cut corners to raise more animals faster, we pride ourselves in producing quality over quantity in our meats..

Our Story

Bratton and Jones Farms was established in 2021 as a retirement plan of Nick Bratton and His wife Kendra Bratton, with the help of Kendra’s father Larry Jones. For many years Nick and Kendra wanted to own their own farm to show their children what it was like to raise their own food and the work that goes into it. Bratton and Jones Farms is dedicated to keeping the welfare of the animals and the quality of the meat at the forefront of the business. They utilize as much of the acreage available to them as possible to give all the animals room to roam and flourish.

Starting with a garden on the Jones farm in Clarksville, TN, it quickly expanded into meat and egg production when the first two pigs and 20 chickens were brought onto the farm. Nick and Kendra quickly realized the need for expansion and found the current property in Cedar Hill, TN to bring the Bratton family out into the country and expand production. Even before completely getting the family settled, the next set of pigs were brought onto the property. From there it was the egg production and meat chickens to bring the poultry onto the farm.

The family keeps the dream of a rustic life alive with rustic animal housing solutions that keep the animals safe and dry, while also maintaining the old feel. The animals interact with the family more as pets than livestock and lead a happy and loving life.

Nick and Kendra bring all the products produced straight to the local community via local Farmer’s Markets and on farm sales. The appeal of farm life and the life of raising animals for food is what keeps the farm growing and bringing quality wholesome food to the community. The joy of raising animals as well as the struggles that come along with that helps to keep us doing what we love and sharing it with everyone in the community that we can.
